Cape Medical Supply CEO Attends Healthcare Reform Forum with MA Governor Deval Patrick and United States Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
Cape Medical Supply CEO Gary Sheehan was invited and attended a recent healthcare reform forum at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, MA with Governor Deval Patrick and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. The event, which was invitation only, featured a broad range of healthcare stakeholders for a discussion on healthcare reform.
Mr. Sheehan was honored to attend and pleased to be able to deliver a statement and question to Secretary Sebelius, along with some supporting materials outlining the value homecare brings to the U.S. healthcare continuum.
“I was fortunate to have Governor Patrick call on me for a question, and Secretary Sebelius gave a thoughtful answer about the role she saw homecare playing,” commented Mr. Sheehan. “One of my central points centered on the Hippocratic Oath, which states above all else, do no harm. The government must be careful in the rush to complete the reform process that they do not dismantle or destroy key programs providing long term value to patients and the system.”
The domestic healthcare reform process appears to be taking legislative shape currently; citizens and healthcare professionals are encouraged to reach out to their elected officials or educate themselves and join the conversation at http://www.healthreform.gov/
