NH Oxygen Patient Dies in Storm

Published on 12/18/08 04:44PM by Gary Sheehan

Tragic story stemming from the recent power outages in NH.  Demonstrates how critical oxygen providers are in caring for their patients, and the necessity to communicate with them about the options they have to protect themselves in the evnet of a storm or outage.

Are you or is someone you know oxygen dependent?  Contact your local officials so they are aware of your condition in the event of an emergency.  We maintain "Hot Lists" of all patients so we can get to them in the event of an emergency, and we treasure the role we play in trying to keep emergency services intervention to an absolute minimum, but it never hurts to have a larger safety net in place.

If you have more questions please contact our Clinical Respiratory Department at (800) 339-3322.
